Dear Friends,
This time of year has always been tough...but this year feels different. When I tell you I'm on the struggle bus! I just feel so drained, like I don't have any energy to do anything beyond surviving the school day and recovering over the weekends.
But! There are plenty of things that still bring me life, and I'm here to nurture and cultivate them as much as possible. Sitting atop that list is AfroFranco Book Club! Our last meeting on Kiffe Kiffe Demain was as love-filled and life-affirming as any other, and I'm so grateful.
So the time has come to announce our next reads, which will go as follows:
Let's read the classic L'Enfant Noir by Camara Laye for a Friday, June 10th, 2022 8PM Eastern discussion...
Followed by La Plus Secrète Mémoire des Hommes by Mohamed mbougar Sarr for a Friday, August 12th, 2022 8PM Eastern meeting and discussion as well. This will give us plenty of time to dive into this almost-500-pager.
