About

The **AfroFranco Teacher Collective** is an ongoing professional learning community for World Language educators who are excited to create more engaging, equitable, culturally responsive, and proficiency-focused classrooms. During the 2026–2027 school year, members will come together for live virtual webinars and meetings focused on practical approaches to language acquisition, comprehensible input, proficiency-based instruction, assessment, curriculum design, intercultural learning, and teaching students at the Novice through Advanced levels. This is a space to learn, collaborate, reflect, and grow alongside educators committed to meaningful and transformative language teaching. Together, we’ll explore practical strategies, authentic resources, current events, and ways to center historically marginalized voices while supporting students’ growth across the Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational modes. This course serves as the home base for meeting information, session materials, recordings, resources, and other PLC content. Members who complete the program requirements will receive an official certificate of participation documenting their professional learning throughout the year.
