French for Spanish Teachers: Fall I Ready to keep building your French while becoming an even more reflective language teacher? French for Spanish Teachers: Fall I is a 6-week live, virtual French course designed especially for language educators who want to experience language acquisition from the other side of the classroom. We'll meet Wednesdays at 8:00 PM Eastern, September 23 through October 28. Each week, you'll put yourself back in the student seat for an engaging, communicative French lesson built around acquisition-driven, proficiency-based practices. You'll experience firsthand what it feels like when language is comprehensible, communication matters more than perfection, and learners feel confident enough to take risks. Then we switch hats! After each class, we'll debrief the lesson as educators, unpacking the strategies you just experienced and considering how they might transfer to your own classroom, regardless of the language you teach. Over six weeks, you'll: Build your own French proficiency through meaningful communication Experience acquisition-driven strategies as a learner before analyzing them as a teacher Explore practical approaches to personalization, scaffolding, questioning, authentic resources, assessment, and more Consider ways to lower the affective filter, build confidence, and create belonging Connect with fellow language educators learning right alongside you Leave with ideas you can adapt for your own classroom And because the school year gets BUSY, every class is recorded.
