AfroFranco Book Club #UpNext

Hey y'all,

Here is hoping that everyone is truly enjoying a restful and restorative holiday break. I feel like I've gotten the little bit of downtime that my brain could handle in order for me to jump head-first into thinking about all of the dope stuff in the pipeline.

I wanted to first remind y'all that our next read for AfroFranco Book Club is for the amazing novel Nos Jours Brûlés by Laura Nsafou on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 8PM Eastern. I am absolutely loving this book and can't wait to see y'all there to discuss and all that.

Secondly, I've made a separate forum post where I will continually update with all of the information about Book Club, not the least of which is the upcoming reading queue. I've also added a few things, aligned with some new ideas for 2023:

  • Link for suggestions! I genuinely love the process of finding interesting books for us to read, but I know some of our best reads have come from folks' suggestions. So if you come across a book that you'd like to see us tackle in the club, by all means, share!

  • Book Club Replay! Formally known as Book Club PD, this is a space where you can access recordings of our meetings if you're unable to make it to the live session AND I'm going to be including a novice-intermediate lesson plan that you can use about the book with each read. It's a monthly subscription of $4.99/month that I'll start adding to starting with our next read of Nos Jours Brûlés.

I couldn't be more thrilled about this amazing group of people. I'm super grateful for all of the people who have been coming through and keeping me motivated from day 1.

Let's get it!
